Indo-US joint military exercise on counter-insurgency in Hawai
Lucknow, Sep 12 (UNI) The Indian and US armies would hold joint exercise on counter-insurgency and counter-terrorism in Hawai.
The US Army Pacific Command and Lucknow-based Central Command would hold the exercise christened 'Yudh Abhayas 06-02'.
The proposed exercise would be held in two phases, with phase I being devoted to exchange of military information and knowledge of each others' weapon systems and organisation structure. The second phase would cover a series of joint exercises covering the various facets of CI/CT operations in semi developed and developed environs.
A company force accompanied by battalion headquarters comand and control elements of USAPAC and and an equal number of force of the Central COmmand (CC) would participate in the exercise.
The vast rocky environs of Hawai with its scattered settlements, coupled with training facilities will make the exercise ''one of its kind,'' an official spokesperson said here today.
