Daya Saran Sinha to head Gujarat Rights panel

Gandhinagar, Sep 12 (UNI) Former Gujarat High Court chief justice Daya Saran Sinha today assumed the charge of Chairman of the State Human Rights Commission.

''On assuming the role of chairperson, I have got a chance to serve the people of the state,'' he said in an official statement here today.

Mr Sinha, who was enrolled by the Allahabad High Court as Pleader in 1960 and as Advocate in 1962, had served as Member of Allahabad High Court Legal Aid and Advisory Board of the U P Government for several years.

Mr Sinha, who was elevated as Chief Justice of Gujarat High Court on March 17, 2002, had continued until March 2003.
