Congress appeals to TRS supremo not to resign from LS

New Delhi, Sep 12 (UNI) The Congress today appealed to Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) supremo and former Union Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao to reconsider his decision to resign from the Lok Sabha.

"We appeal to Mr Rao to reconsider his decision," AICC Spokesman Abishek Manu Singhvi said during an informal chat with mediapersons at the AICC headquarters.

Mr Rao announced his decision to resign at a meeting at Hyderabad yesterday.

The TRS pulled out of the ruling Congress-led UPA coalition last month in protest against the delay in according statehood to Telangana region in Andhra Pradesh. Mr Rao and his colleague A Narendra also resigned from the Manmohan Singh government over the same issue.

The TRS has a total of five MPs in the Lok Sabha.
