Clash between Congress and DPI volunteers

Pondicherry, Sep 12 (UNI) Six persons were injured in a clash between Congress and DPI volunteers at Villianur near here today.

According to police, the clash occured following the tearing of a poster pasted on the birthday of A Namasivayam, the Congress legislator. There was previous enimity between the groups, following the joining of Congress by some DPI partymen.

The injured were admitted to the government general hospital.

On complaints from both the sides, police registered cases against 12 persons.
