CBCI condemns attack on Loreto School in Lucknow

New Delhi, Sep 12 (UNI) The Catholic Bishops' Conference of India has condemned the vandalism by the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha, the youth front of the BJP, at the Loreto Convent School in Lucknow.

''We, the Bishops of India unequivocally state that suck attacks are totally unwarranted,'' the CBCI said in a statement here. ''As a civilized and democratic society, we should resort to dialogue rather than violence to find solution to problems''.

While defending the school and arguing that no motives should be attached to the prayer meeting there, the CBCI said it was totally uncalled for that some activists belonging to different organisations took law in their hands and created mayhem in the school premises.
