Explosion at bus stand in AP causes panic
Karimnagar, Sept 12: An explosion in Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) bus stand in Karimnagar Town sent shock waves last night.
Police said one of the three explosives kept in a polythene cover on the passengers' seat at Platform 7 where Nizamabad-bound bus was to be parked, went off and created panic. However, none were injured.
The police, who were alerted, reached the spot and took stock of the situation. They seized the other two explosives which they described as ''ordinary crackers''.
This is the second time that such an incident had occurred at the bus stand.
Last year, 21 people were injured when a tiffin-box bomb went off Platfrom 6. The culprits were still at large.
