Attack on Iraqi Shi'ite mosque kills 7: TV

Baquba (Iraq), Sep 12: Gunmen attacked overnight a Shi'ite mosque in a town south of the ethnically volatile city of Baquba, killing seven and wounding others, state-run television al-Iraqiya said today.

It said six mortar rounds landed on the mosque in Khan Bani Saad and destroyed it.

The television station, controlled by the Shi'ite-led government, did not provide a source for the report. A resident in the area reported hearing clashes overnight.
