AP Sports Minister resigns from cabinet
Hyderabad, Sept 12 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Sports and Cultural Affairs Minister M Satyanarayana Rao today submitted his resignation to the Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy.
According to reliable sources here, the minister had submitted his resignation letter to the Chief Minister after meeting the state Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) President K Keshava Rao.
Rao, a senior Congress leader, who urged the TRS chief K Chandrasekhara Rao to resign his seat, had yesterday asserted that he too would follow suit and take on Mr Chandrasekhara Rao in an electoral battle. He submitted his resignation letter to Dr Reddy after the TRS Chief resigned from Lok Sabha this morning.
On a day of dramatic developments, Mr Chandrasekhara Rao, who had resigned from the Manmohan Singh cabinet along with his deputy A Narendra, said at a crowded press conference he was resigning his Lok Sabha seat after Pradesh Congress Chief K Keshava Rao backed Mr Satyanarayana Rao.
