Amarinder visits PGI for check up after chopper accident
Chandigarh, Sep 12 (UNI) Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh visited the prestigious PGI here for a general check up after having a miraculous escape when his helicopter hit an overhead high tension wire at Rajowa village in Gurdaspur district this afternoon.
According to hospital sources, Capt Singh had not received any injury, apparent or hidden, in the mishap and was in good health and cheer.
The check up was done as a precautionary measure to completely rule out any possibility of harm to the Chief Minister. He was examinied thoroughly by a team of senior doctors mainly for orthopaedical or muscular injuries and bruises. Other routine checks up like blood pressure were also taken.
Earlier, Capt Singh and his ministerial colleagues- PWD minister Pratap Singh Bajwa and Local Bodies minister Chaudhary Jagjit Singh escaped without any apparent hurt in the mishap.
The Chief Minister later left by road for Sri Hargobindpur to address a rally there as scheduled. He returned here by another helicopter.
