Woman killed after being trapped in machine

Kolkata, Sep 11 (UNI) A woman jute mill worker was killed after being trapped in a machine at Titagarh Jute Mill under Khardah police station near here today.

Police said Laxmi Shah(35) was reportedly trapped as the drape of her saree entangled with the belt of the machine.

She was pressed in the rolling machine and died on the spot.

The accident sent shock waves among fellow workers who expressed their resentment against the 'negligence' of the management.

They also accused the management of lackadaisical attitude in providing better security arrangement to its employees.

Police recovered the woman's body and sent it for post-mortem.
