Two consortiums bid for Freescale-source

NEW YORK, Sept 11 (Reuters) Two private equity consortiums are bidding to buy chip maker Freescale Semiconductor Inc. for about billion, a source familiar with the matter said on Monday.

One consortium includes Texas Pacific Group, Blackstone Group and Permira, as well as Carlyle Group and Bain Capital, according to the person who said the other group includes Kohlberg Kravis Roberts&Co. and Silver Lake Partners.
