Sultry climate prevails, rains to occur within 24 hours

Kolkata, Sep 11 (UNI) West Bengal continued to experience hot and sultry weather condition despite drizzle in some isolated areas this morning.

However, Kolkatans had a tough time as there was no rainfall during the last 24 hours.

The climate in the city also remained very hot and humid with dark clouds covering the sky in the afternoon, giving an impression of a sudden downpour.

The weathermen have forecast heavy rainfall in the next 24 hours.

The other parts of the state like Jalpaiguri, Darjeeling and Siliguri had received heavy rainfall which caused massive landslides, official sources said.

The humidity today remained the same at 97 per cent.

The maximum temperature was recorded at 32 degrees celsius while the minimum was 26.2 degrees celsius.
