Sugar prices recover on improved demand

Mumbai, Sep 11 (UNI) Wholesale spot sugar prices recovered after a week on improved demand, traders at the Bombay Sugar Merchants' Association said today.

Sugar of small grade went up by Rs five per quintal on better buying support while medium grade came down by Re one on lack of fresh demand.

Sugar of ex-mill small and medium grades rose by Rs five and Rs ten per quintal on lesser stock supply.

Following were the spot sugar wholesale rates per quintal: Small grade: Rs 1,756/1,795, medium grade: Rs 1,791/1,835.

Ex-mill: small grade: Rs 1,735/1,755, medium grade: Rs 1,765/1,800.
