Strike in PSU majors deferred

New Delhi, Sep 11 (UNI) A one-day strike in the public sector majors NTPC, Coal India, Steel Authority of India, Power Finance Corporation and National Hydroelectric Power Corporation has been deferred by a month to October 12, the Joint Forum of their Officers' Associations said today.

The strike was deferred in view of recent developments over the issue of merger of 50 per cent DA with Basic Pay with effect from 1.1.2005, the Joint Forum said in a statement.

In the event of the non-resolution of the issue within a month, the officers of these PSUs would go on strike from October 12, it added.
