Monsoon was weak over Coastal and North Interior Karnataka

Bangalore, Sep 11 (UNI) Following is a summary of observations recorded by the weather office at 0830 hours today.

Monsoon was weak over Coastal Karnataka and North Interior Karnataka.

Rainfall occurred at a few places over Coastal Karnataka and South Interior Karnataka and at isolated places over places over North Interior Karnataka.

Chief amounts of rainfall (cm) : Karkala, Alland, Sringeri 4 each; Hosanagar, Challakere 3 each; Gokak, Kammardi, Gulbarga Tumkur 2 each; Subramanya, Sankeshwar, Chincholi, Madikeri, Shimoga, Mudigere, Kottur, Chitradurga, Hiriyur 1 each.

Forecast valid until Wednesday morning: Rain/thundershowers likely to occur at a few places over the State.

Farmers Weather Bulletin: Light to moderate rain likely to occur at a few places over Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Uttara Kannada, Belgaum, Bidar, Gulbarga, Bijapur, Shimoga, Chikmagalur, Kodagu districts and at isolated places over remaining districts of the State.

Forecast for Bangalore city: Partly cloudy. Light rain likely.
