Militant killed, PDP worker wounded in Kashmir

Srinagar, Sep 11 (UNI) Security forces shot dead a militant of Pakistan-based Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT) while ultras at wounded a worker of People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Kashmir valley overnight.

Official sources said security forces killed a militant of LeT in an encounter at Nehru Bagh in Bandipora area of north Kashmir's Baramulla district today.

The encounter was ensued after a search party was attacked by the militants, sources said, adding an AK rifle and other arms and ammunition were seized from the slain ultra.

Militants shot at and wounded a PDP worker Ghulam Mohammad Ganai at Hassanpora Bijbehara of south Kashmir's Anantnag district last night.

Ganai was shifted to hospital in a critical condition, sources said.
