MANUU to set up test centre in Jedda

Hyderabad, Sept 11 (UNI) Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) will set up an examination centre at Jedda which could cater to the needs of Urdu speaking NRIs to pursue higher education on distance mode.

According to university sources here today, a three-member delegation led by MANUU Vice-Chancellor prof A M Pathan was in Jedda to inaugurate the centre. It would be set up at India Consulate General Office. The varsity would offer BA and B Com courses to students who had no access to higher education in Urdu medium in Saudi Arabia.

The varsity would conduct elgibility test to the students to gain admission to the graduate courses. The study material would be sent to the students directly from the varsity.

The National Urdu University was also planning to set up study centres in the UK and Canada as the demand for Urdu medium education was increasing at global level.

The sources said a university delegation would also go to Pakistan to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with two Urdu Universities for exchanging education programmes and to get Urdu medium books in higher education in future. MANUU was planning to acquire Urdu medium books from the Pakistan universities to offer more higher education courses from the next academic year.
