Man shot at by co-worker over Rs 5,000 debt

Ambala, Sep 11 (UNI) A factory worker hailing from eastern Uttar Pradesh was seriously injured when he was shot at by another worker in Gandhi Market here today.

According to reports, the attacker Pramod, who fired at Om Prakash with a country made pistol, had been pressing the victim to return a sum of Rs 5,000 which he claimed to have lent him some time back.

Om Prakash however, maintained that he had already returned the money to Pramod, who also belonged to eastern Uttar Pradesh.

Today, the dispute over the issue turned violent and Pramod fired at Om Prakash with the unlicensed pistol, inflicting injuries on his back.

On hearing the shot, the neighbours rushed to the spot where Om Prakash, despite being injured, had held on to the assailant.

The seriously injured Prakash was rushed to the civil hospital from where he was referred to the PGI, Chandigarh.

The crowd handed over Pramod to the police, which also recovered the country made pistol with two cartridges.
