LIC agents seek more gratuity

Hyderabad, Sept 11 (UNI) The Life Insurance Agents' Federation of India (LIAFI) Hyderabad Divisional Council (HDC) today demanded that the management enhance gratuity from Rs one lakh to a minimum of Rs five lakh to all LIC agents in the country.

Addressing a press meet here today, HDC President Shaik Shajabhan and General Secretary Ch. Ashok Kumar also wanted the management to increase the group insurance limit to agents from the existing Rs one lakh rpt one lakh to Rs five lakh and Mediclaim facility to all agents.

They also demanded that the management remove the 15 per cent lapsation clause, which created problems for them.

They appealed to the LIC mangement to announce special incentives for LIC agents on par with LIC staff on the eve of the company's golden jubilee celebrations.

They said LIC's present market share was 78 per cent with Rs five lakh crore life fund in seven zones, consisting of 100 divisions and 2048 branches. There were 11 lakh LIC agents all over the country, contributing a lot to improve business.

They said the general Body meeting of the HDC would be held here tomorrow and State Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy would be the chief guest and release the souvenir.

They Said LIC Chairman T S Vijayan, All India Agents' Federation President N C Chandak, LIC senior officials and agents would take part in the meeting.
