Jet-Sahara petition deferred till September 18

Mumbai, Sep 11 (UNI) Bombay High Court today deferred the hearing of the petition on the dispute arising out of the collapsed deal for acquisition of Sahara Airlines by Jet Airways for Rs 2300 crore.

While the matter was listed before Justice D K Deshmukh, the same was adjourned during the day till September 18 following the counsels for the airlines amicably sought time to argue the matter.

On August 28, the Apex Court had transferred the matter back to the Bombay High Court on the grounds that the said court has the inherent jurisdiction to hear the case.

The Apex court had then also observed that it would be open for Sahara to argue before the High Court that it lacks inherent jurisdiction.

The Apex Court however, did not vacate the stay on the escrow account and the advance paid in the account by Jet for the deal.
