IUDS in GVMC: AP CM

Visakhapatnam, Sep 11 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy has commissioned the Rs 20 crore Integrated Underground Drainage System (IUDS) of the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporataion (GVMC) in the old city area.

Speaking after commissioning the IUDS here, he said 10,000 houses were constructed for the poor during the last two-and-half-year, more than 35,000 houses would be built during the next three years.

The Godavari Water Supply Scheme was secured from the Centre under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM) to lay distribution network to supply of water round the clock to every household in the city, while huge investment being made in the industry sector would provide employment to many, he added.
