Idea achieves 0.5 mln subscriber base in Haryana
New Delhi, Sep 11 (UNI) Aditya Birla Group-owned Idea Cellular today said it had touched the half-a-million subscriber base mark, besides achieving the highest net additions among all operators in the Haryana circle.
''Presently we have our footprint close to 268 towns in Haryana and have plans to cover more towns with fresh investments. We have made regular investments towards network up-gradation, new town launches, highway coverage and continously expanded our ditribution network,'' Idea Circle Head (Haryana) Cherian Peter said.
The company's market share now stands at 19 per cent, up 4 per cent as compared to March 2006.
Idea has licenses to operate in 11 circles. With a customer base of over 9 million, it has presence in states including Delhi, Uttaranchal, UP-West, Goa Gujarat, Kerala, Chhattishgarh, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh, its footprint covers about 45 per cent of India's population and over 50 per cent of the potential telecom market.
