HC directs RSS leader to surrender in Madhani attack case
Kochi, Sep 11 (UNI) The Kerala High Court today directed Shaji Kumar, the RSS 'karyavahak' at Sooranad, to surrender before the magistrate in the case relating to the attack on People Democratic Party (PDP) leader Abdul Nasar Madhani.
Justice K R Udayanabhanu rejected his plea to quash proceedings against him. In the explosion on August 6, 1992, Abdul Nasar Madhani had lost his right leg.
Shaji Kumar contended that he was innocent and was not involved in the attack. But the police submitted that Shaji was arraigned as an accused on the basis of the confession statement of Reghunathan Pillai, the first accused in the case. He further submitted that the investigation in the case was complete.
