Four drown in Anand dist

Anand, Sep 11 (UNI) Three youths drowned in the Shedi river while bathing and one of their friends was rescued by local villagers near Veenagaon in Anand district, fire brigade sources said today.

The four had gone for a picnic yesterday to Sidhnath Mandir in Veenagaon, where there is a confluence of three rivers, alongwith a large group of friends.

While Dakshesh Vaghela was rescued, three others - Purneswar Solanki, Raju Bhimrao and Sailesh Vaghela - lost their lives.

The Bodies of two have been recovered till reports last came in.

In another incident near Kapadganj in the district, a cowherd, Shivaji Chauhan, aged 45, drowned yesterday while he was bathing in Vatrak river.
