Educational institutions reopen in Kashmir after floods
Srinagar, Sep 11 (UNI) All educational institutions in the Kashmir valley reopened today after remaining closed for nine days due to the devastating floods.
Normal attendance was registered in all schools and colleges across the valley today. However, attendance in the areas affected by flood was less, official sources said, adding flood water had entered a number of schools in south Kashmir districts of Anantnag and Pulwama.
Earlier, Divisional authorities had announced a two-day closure of all educational institutions from September three after a number of villages in Anantnag, Pulwama, Srinagar and Badgam districts were submerged due to flood. However, as the flood situation worsened, the closure was extended till September nine.
