CPI ready to join third alternative: Reddy
Gulbarga, Sep 11 (UNI) CPI National Secretary S Sudhakar Reddy today made it clear that the party is ready to join a third alternative at the Centre if it emerged with clear cut economic policies.
Talking to UNI here, he said though there was no emergency for an alternative, the CPI had no reservations to join it if it did not come under the influence of World Bank and imperialistic forces.
''We require a third alternative instead of a third front.
Without the Left parties, there will be no third alternative,'' he said.
Mr Reddy, a Lok Sabha member from Khammam constituency in Andhra Pradesh, said former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, who tried to form a third front recently along with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav, had met him and discussed about a third alternative.
''Mr Naidu told me that he is looking for alternative economic policies, which is the main requirement of the Left parties,'' he said.
