Purulia, Sep 11 (UNI) West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee today claimed that the Left Front will retain Purulia bypoll seat as the AITC, the BJP and the Congress alliance would fail to deliver any ''good'' even if they come to power.

Addressing an election rally here, Mr Bhattacharjee said that the party would retain its seat in Katwa also and win the Malda seat as well.

Bypolls for the Purulia Lok Sabha seat is scheduled on September 16 and Left supported Forward Bloc candidate Narahari Mahato is contesting the polls. Apart from the Congress, there are six other contestants vying for the seat.

Speaking at the rally, Mr Bhattacharjee threatened that the Left Front might withdraw its support to the UPA if it does not control the price hike of petrol, diesel and other essential commodities.

The Chief Minister said without the support of the 61 Left Front MPs, the UPA government could not continue in the Centre.

'' The Congress has no proper policies, moral and principles.

Still we are supporting them at the Centre to stop the BJP coming to power,'' he said.
