CPI demands inquiry by SC judge into mining scam
Gulbarga, Sep 11 (UNI) The Communist Party of India today demanded that an inquiry by a sitting Supreme Court judge be ordered into the mining scam, in which Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy faced bribery allegations.
Addressing a public meeting here, CPI National Secretary S Sudhakara reddy said inquiry by a retired judge or a Cabinet Committee would not do. He charged the BJP with attempting to stifle the voice of its MLC Janardhana Reddy, who levelled the bribery allegation against the Chief Minister.
He criticised that despite two major rivers - Krishna and Bhima - flowing across Gulbarga, there was acute drinking water shortage in the district.
