Court seeks informations about trial in Shahabuddin cases

Patna, Sept 11 (UNI) Patna High Court today asked the state government to inform it about the trial of cases of RJD MP Md Shahabuddin through video conferencing.

A single bench of the court of justice V.N.Sinha wanted to know about the progress made by the government in the cases.

Meanwhile, a report sent by the All India Institute Medical Sciences (AIIMS), where Md Shahabuddin was undergoing spinal cord treatment, mentioned that the MP was refusing to undergo operation.

The government pleader told the court that for want of specific information about whether he would undergo the operation or be sent back, the government was unable to take any decision for the trial.

The matter would be heard again tomorrow.

Meanwhile, the regular bail application of former District Magistrate of Patna Gautam Goswami could not be heard in connection with the multi-crore flood relief scam and would be taken up on September 13.

Mr Goswami is in the Beur central jail for the past several months.
