BJP distances itself from Lucknow school attack
New Delhi, Sep 11 (UNI) The BJP today distanced itself from the attack on a christian school at Lucknow and denied that the party's yuva morcha was involved in it.
BJP spokesman Ravi Shankar Prasad said following reports appearing in a section of the media, the party inquired with Uttar Pradesh yuva morcha chief and he said the morcha was not behind the attack. It could have been a ''spontaneous individual reaction'' against the school, he had said.
Mr Prasad said the BJP did not approve of the school organising a programme where a person was made to appear as ''Jesus Christ'' before the students and many of them got frightened and fell unconscious.
''We also don't approve of subsequent vandalism and destruction that took place'', he added.
