K'taka: Bangarappa forecasts mid term elections

Mysore, Sep 11: Former Karnataka chief minsiter and State Samajawadi Party President S Bangarappa today visualised a mid term election in the state stating that the fall of the JD(S)-BJP government was certain.

Talking to newsmen here he said the present government which he alleged was indulging in widespread corruption would collapse on its own. The very fact that former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda was planning a state wide to galvanise his party was an indication of the impending elections in the state he added.

Alleging that both the present JD(S) and BJP governmentand the previous Congress led government were responsible for the illegal mining activities in Bellary, he said his party has collected valuable information about the illegal mining activities in Bellary district and also those responsible for it and would made it public shortly.

Referring defiant BJP legislator Janardhana Reddy, the former chief minsiter has said that the issue was still not over and it might explode any time resulting in the collapse of the state government.

Mr Bangarappa also said his party would hold a state level party convention on 28th of this month at Davanagere and would organise district level meetings in preparation for the elections. The party would field its candidate once the election commission announced the date of by-election to the Chamundeshwari assembly constituency following resignation of Sidharamaiah who had joined Congress. He said that his party would contest for all the 224 assembly constituencies if the elections were held.
