Bail to Dr Bedi in Jessica Lal murder case

New Delhi, Sept 11: A city court today granted bail to Dr J S Bedi, who had issued false medical certificates to Vikas Gill, a proclaimed offender in the controversial Jessica Lal murder case.

Additional Chief Metropolitan magistrate Kamini Lau granted bail to Bedi on the conditions that he has to submit his passport in the court, appear before the police once a month and cooperate in the investigations into the case.

The false certificates enabled Vikas not only exemption from personal appearances during trial but also helped him escape to the US.
