BA flight makes emergency landing in Belgium
BRUSSELS, Sept 10 (Reuters) A British Airways flight from London to Frankfurt made a safe emergency landing at Brussels airport today after what appeared to be a false fire alert on board, authorities said.
''There were no visible traces on board the plane,'' a Brussels fire brigade spokesman said of inspections carried out after the aircraft landed.
Brussels airport spokesman Jos de Houwer said all 143 people on board the aircraft got off safely after the incident. They were being taken by coach to Frankfurt.
De Houwer said the pilot had received a warning signal that a fire had broken out in the hold and had decided to make an emergency landing.
