Monsoon active over South interior Karnataka

Bangalore, Sep 10 (UNI) Following is a summary of observations recorded by the Weather Office here at 0830hrs today.

Monsoon was active over South Interior Karnataka. Rainfall occurred at Coastal Karnataka and at a few places over North Interior Karnataka.

Chief amounts of rainfall(cm): Nilkund, Napoklu, Ponampet, Madikeri 5 each, Karkala, Shirali, Chikmagalur 4 each, Siddapura, Sirsi, Bhadravathi, Kudligi 3 each, Dharwad, Hubli, Gokak, Thirthahalli 2 each, Mudibidre, Mangalore, Panambur, Mangalore AP, Udupi, Karwar, Virajpet. Mysore, Chamarajnagara, Channapatna 1 each.

Forecast valid until Tuesday morning: Rain/thundershowers likely to occur at many places over Coastal Karnataka and at a few places over Interior Karnataka.

Farmers Weather Bulletin: Light to moderate rain likely to occur at many places over Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Uttara Kannada districts, at a few places over Belgaum, Haveri, Dharwad, Kodagu, Chikmagalur, Shimoga districts and at isolated places over remaining districts of the State.

Local forecast: Generally cloudy. Rain/thundershowers likely towards evening/night.
