Lanka Ravi lifts National 'B' Chess title
Ahmedabad, Sep 10 (UNI) International Master Lanka Ravi today emerged winner of the National 'B' chess title after agreeing for a draw against Vikramaditya Kamble of Maharashtra in the 13th and final round.
Ravi scored respectable 10 points and was half-point ahead of his nearest rival Himanshu Sharma. On the second spot, Sharma drew his game against G Rohit and took his point tally to 9.5 points and won the second prize. After that, there was a tie at nine points involving 27 players, which required a tie-break. West Bengal's Suvrajit Saha emerged on top and reached the third spot.
Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, AICF Secretary D V Sunder were present to honour the winners at the closing ceremony of the Championship.
