CITU warns UPA for its anti-workers policies

Mandi, Sep 10 (UNI) The Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) President M K Pandhe today said the Left parties would oppose any move of the government to suppress the working class.

Delivering the inaugural address at the 6th All India Conference of the Construction Workers Federation of India (CWFI) at Vipasha Sadan here today he said that the UPA instead of creating more facilities and job guarantee for the working class was bent upon changing laws to attract foreign direct investment in the country which was to the detriment of Indian workers.

Dr Pandhe said Himachal Pradesh had a great deal of potential for employment generation but unfortunately nothing had been done in this direction.The state and Central government should construct dams and set-up hydel projects in Himachal to generate more jobs.

He said along with construction workers, the agriculture workers and farmers were suffering immensely because of the oppressive policies of the UPA governmemt.
