Bengal experience sultry weather, rains

Kolkata, Sep 10 (UNI) West Bengal today experienced hot and sultry weather condition despite few spell of drizzle in some districts this morning.

Rains in rural Bongaon, bordering Bangladesh, today disrupted traffic and West Bengal Chief Minister's convoy was stucked up for some time. Mr Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee had gone there for an electioneering for CPI (M) candidate for assembly bypoll to be held on September 16. His convoy got stuck there for some time after an overhead wire collapsed on the road following rains, sources said.

Weathermen said the sky would remain partly cloudy and few spells of rains is likely to occur later tonight.

The humidity was 97 per cent.

The maximum temperature was recorded at 33.5 degree Celsius while the minimum was 26.2 degree Celsius.
