Bal Ashram coming up in Kashmir's border area
Srinagar, Sep 10 (UNI) A 'Bal Ashram' (children home) is coming up at Handwara in frontier Kashmir district of Kupwara at a cost of Rs 96 lakh, an official spokesman said today.
He said so far Rs 51 lakh have been spent on the construction of the 'Ashram' which was expected to be completed by the end of November this year.
The spokesman also said that 136 Anganwari centers were working with 408 nursing mothers in Rajwara ICDS project in the district.
He said 686 pregnant women were registered with these centers, besides 5,665 children, in the age group of 0-6 years, had been provided with nutrition and pre-nursery schooling.
