Army dedicates cricket stadium in Kashmir
Srinagar, Sep 10 (UNI) The Army dedicated a cricket stadium to the people of south Kashmir today.
Named as ''Victorpura Stadium'', it was constructed by the Army's Victor Force at Jaubrara near Awantipora in Pulwama district.
Besides a top class turf, it has two practice pitches and a seating capacity for more than 1000 spectators.
The stadium was inaugurated by General Officer-in-Commanding (GOC) XV Corps Lt Gen S S Dhillon.
An inter-school cultural competition among the children of Anantnag, Pulwama and Badgam districts was also organised on the occasion. More than 800 children took part in the cultural extravaganza.
A photo exhibition showcasing the Army's various welfare activities and the assistance provided during various natural calamities was also organised.
