VHP to disassociate itself from Swaroopanand Saraswati's parikrama
Jaipur, Sep 9 (UNI) Vishwa Hindu Parishad is going to disassociate itself from the Ram Mandir parikrama in Ayodhya to be carried out from November 30 this year by Shankaracharya Swami Swaroopanand Saraswati.
Speaking at a press conference here today, Shankarachayra Swami Vasudevnandji Maharaj said that VHP will have nothing to do with the parikrama which has the support of BJP leader L K Advani.
Shankarachayra Vasudevnandji Maharaj said Swaroopanandji is a politician and not a Shankaracharya.
Vasudevnandji, however, said VHP will act according to the decisions taken by its Guiding Committee and if Swaroopanandji wants to join them, he is welcome.
Shankaracharya Swami Swaroopanand Saraswati will hold a Ram Katha discourse for seven days in Ayodhya before beginning the parikrama on November 30. The move has the support of BJP and Rashtriya Swayam Sevak.
