UFBU calls bank strike on October 27
Bhubaneswar, Sep 09 (UNI) About 10,000,00 bank employees, under the aegis of the United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU), will observe a token strike on October 27 to protest alleged indifference of the Government and the bank managements.
The UFBU has chalked out an agitational programme from October 5 with demonstrations in state capitals followed by dharnas at the same locations on October 18, said UFBU convenor Prafulla kumar Patnaik.
The UFBU demands include introduction of second option on pension scheme, stopping of the outsourcing core functions of banks and filling up of existing vacancies. The organisation opposed merger and acquisition of public sector banks.
