Two SPOs killed in militant attack

Jammu, Sep 9 (UNI) A group of Hizbul Mujahideen militants looted weapons from a Special Task Police Force post and killed two special police officers in Bhaderwah in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir last night.

The militants fled with 10 AK 56 assault rifles and four SLRs.

Inspector General of Police (IG), Jammu, S P Vaid, while confirming the incident, told UNI that militant Javed Iqbal, along with another SPO, shot dead two SPOs and looted the weapons.

The Doda police have not issued any statement.

Meanwhile, sources in the Jammu Police said a search operation was on to nab the assailants.
