Tripura defeats US Colts, enters quarter finals

Hyderabad, Sep 9 (UNI) Tripura entered the quarter finals of the All India Moinuddowlah Gold Cup cricket tournament defeating US Colts by an innings and one run here today.

US Colts, which started their second innings with a deficit of 189 runs were all out for 188 runs in 40 overs.

Amir Afzaluddin who scored 36 in 31 balls with three fours and one six and Rajul Kukreti with 50 runs in 64 balls with five fours were the chief run getters.

Tushar Shah (2/40), Jayanta Debnat (2/38) and Rajib Shah (2/47) were the main wicket takers for Tripura.

In the quarter finals to be played from September 10 to 12 Chemplast will face Karnataka at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium, Hyderabad will face Tripura at Gymkhana grounds, India Cements will meet Tamilnadu Colts at NFC grounds and Mumbai will meet Railways at RRC-1 grounds.

Score: USA Colts (1st innings) all out for 193 runs.

Tripura (1st innings) 382/8 in 90 overs.

US Colts (2nd innings) all out for 188 runs in 40 overs.
