Soth-west monsoon active over Kerala

Thiruvananthapuram, Sept 9 (UNI) The South-west monsoon has been active over Kerala with most places getting good rainfall.

The locaL Met said Varkala received a heavy rainfall of 17 cm followed by Perinthalmanna 11 cm, Minicoy (Lakshadweep) eight cm and Punalur seven cm.

The other chief amounts of rainfalls are Manjeri, Palakkad Amini, Thodupuzha, Kanjirappally five cm each, Mankombu, Kollam four cm Kottayam, Kozha, Thiruvananthapuram city, airport and Agathi (Lakshadweep) three cm each.

Forecast valid until the morning of September 11: rain will occur at many places in Kerala and Lakshadweep.

Isolated heavy rain is likely to occur in Kerala and Lakshadweep in the next 48 hours.
