NCR to upgrade passenger amenities with private participation

Allahabad, Sep 9 (UNI) North Central Railway (NCR) is planning to provide upgraded waiting room facilities to its customers through public-private participation.

Under the scheme, private parties will provide modern furniture, convert non-AC waiting rooms to AC rooms, modernised lavatories and provide better lighting arrangement, an NCR release said here today.

The private parties will not charge any amount from passengers and earn through ads in waiting rooms.

Meanwhile, NCR has already started correspondence with Railway Board to provide guidelines on the subject.
