Muslims take out anti-Pak demonstration
Ahmedabad, Sept 9: A group of minority community members today took out an anti-Pakistan demonstration and burnt an effigy of President Pervez Musharraf near Jamalpur darwaza in the walled city to protest against yesterday's blasts at Malegaon in neighbouring Maharashtra.
About 50 to 60 people gathered near the Darwaza and shouted slogans against terrorism and Pakistan. They also held flags, which said, ''Pakistan Hai, Hai'' (Down with Pakistan).
The demonstrators led by Ahmed Rauf Bengali said, ''We know for sure that Pakistan is behind these blasts. It does not care whether the victims are Hindus or Muslims, its target are Indians. And, we as Indians should together fight against it.'' Police were on alert as the prostestors carried out the agitation.
''Everythng went off peacefully,'' said police inspector R M Chauhan of Haveli police station.
