Munde demands resignation of R R Patil
Mumbai, Sep 9 (UNI) BJP leader Gopinath Munde today demanded the resignation of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister R R Patil for his alleged consistent failure on the intelligence and security front.
Talking to reporters after his return from BJP Dehra Dun National Executive, Mr Munde demanded an inquiry, headed by a sitting High Court Judge, into the incidents that led to the Malegaon blasts since the recovery of explosives from the area about three months ago.
He demanded that the investigations into the Mumbai blasts of July 11, be handed over to the CBI as the state police had failed to achieve a breakthrough.
Mr Munde criticised yesterday's incident and said after Jammu and Kashmir, Maharashtra has become the target of terrorists.
Before proceeding to Malegaon, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena President Raj Thackeray told reporters that he wanted the government to give special powers to the police to tackle terrorists ruthlessly. He also wanted people to co-operate with the police in their actions.
