Mobile clinics in 80 tribal blocks in MP
Bhopal, Sept 9: Encouraged by the success of Deendayal mobile hospital scheme, the Madhya Pradesh government has decided to extend this facility in 80 blocks of 16 tribal-dominated districts, according to Health Minister Ajay Vishnoi.
In the first phase starting on May 25 this year, 11 districts were covered with the cooperation of voluntary organisations.
Mr Vishnoi said the mobile hospital scheme had been launched in those backward blocks where health infrastructure facilities were scarce and people came under the influence of quacks and money lenders. Free diagnosis, treatment, consultation and referral services were provided under the scheme.
The mobile clinics as per a pre-determined schedule reach every village, particularly on market days. Services of qualified doctors, nurses and lab technicians were available at each mobile clinic.
