Maoists arms, main agenda of peace talks: Koirala
Kathmandu, Sept 9: Nepalese Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala has said the main agenda of the peace talks is the management of arms of the Maoists.
''This is, in fact, the first agenda of the seven-party government at present,'' The Himalayan Times quoted Mr Koirala as saying.
''Election to the Constituent Assembly is part of the mandate of the people,'' he further replied to a query.
The aforesaid issue and the date of summit talks would be resolved only after discussions between the government and the Maoists, he said.
''I have talked with the Maoist leadership and I would decide on the basis of what transpires during the talks,'' Koirala added.
The government and the Maoists have agreed for the management of arms to be get underway under the aegis of the United Nations.
