Mamata offers prayers for Malegaon victims

Kolkata, Sep 9 (UNI) Condemning the blasts in Malegaon, Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee today called upon the people to be united against any attempt to whip up communal disharmony.

Offering prayers for those killed in the ghastly incidents, Ms Banerjee lit up candles and placed wreaths at a programme near the Gandhi statue in the city.

People belonging to the minority community were present at the programme.

''Incidents like that in Malegaon should not recur and we must be united against any attempt to divide the people,'' she said.
